Society for Clinical Data Management (SCDM)

Founded in 1994, the Society for Clinical Data Management (SCDM) is a global, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing clinical data management. With over 2,800 members, SCDM promotes quality, excellence, and professional development in the field. The organization is committed to education and collaboration with relevant stakeholders to drive industry progress.

Bioforum actively engages in SCDM leadership:

  • Tanya du Plessis, Chief Data Strategist and Solutions Officer, serves as a board member and plays a key role in the
EMEA leadership committee.
  • Michael Goedde, President of Bioforum, is a former chairperson of SCDM.

Association for Clinical Data Management (ACDM)

ACDM brings together passionate clinical research professionals dedicated to improving the drug development process through continuous learning and the application of modern clinical data management practices.

For over 30 years, ACDM has served the data management community by providing opportunities to:

  • Network and share experiences.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and standards.
  • Support professional growth and career advancement.

By engaging with industry experts, ACDM equips its members with the skills and knowledge needed to excel as future leaders in data management.

Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC)

CDISC plays a pivotal role in clinical research by developing and maintaining global data standards that enhance data accessibility, interoperability, and reusability.

CDISC standards are:

  • Required by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA).
  • Recommended by China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA).
  • Adopted by leading research organizations worldwide.

As a global nonprofit organization, CDISC works with a vast network of members, volunteers, and experts to optimize research efficiency and improve global health outcomes.

  • Eyal Wults, Co-Founder of Bioforum, serves as a member of the CDISC Advisory Council.

American Medical Writers Association (AMWA)

The American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) is a leading organization dedicated to supporting medical communicators through education, networking, and professional development. AMWA brings together experts from various disciplines—including medical writing, editing, and regulatory communication—to advance the clarity and accuracy of medical information.

Bioforum is actively involved in AMWA leadership:
